Scripture of the day – Ephesians 3:16

That He (God) would grant you , according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man.

Oh what a scripture we have this morning!  I get so excited when I write some of these lessons that I can hardly get the thing typed.  I just want to preach it so hard and so loud so that the world may know what things belong unto their peace!  What great and glorious riches that the believer has in Christ.  It is so much more than just going to heaven when we die.  If that was all there was it would be enough, but our Father has provided so much more for us in Christ.

Paul’s prayer for the believers at Ephesus, and for us today, was that God would grant or bestow a gift unto us.  What gift might that be?  The gift of the strength and might of God! Yes, the word might in the Greek is the word dunamis.  It means miracle working power.  Jesus healed the sick with dunamis power.  Dunamis power is what fell upon the early church and it filled everyone of them.  That same  miracle working power is available unto each and every blood bought believer today.

Next question , where does God get this power?  Answer….from His riches or supply of His glory.  That sounds so profoundly deep and superspiritual doesn’t it?  Well, it is profound but not superspiritual let me assure you.  It’s not intended to be so high a knowledge that Gods people cannot grasp it.  Let us look at the word “glory” for just a moment.  God’s Glory is the essence that makes Him perfect and superior in all His ways.  It is what He is clothed with. It is the same clothing that Adam and Eve were clothed with before they sinned. It was the brilliance of His Glory that covered their nakedness.  Remember when Moses stood on Mount Sinai and saw the hinder parts of God?  Moses’s face shined like an angel.  It was so bright that the Israelites told him to put a veil over his face because of the blinding light.

Consider what happened to Saul of Tarsus while on the road to Damascus to imprison more believers.  A bright light came from heaven and blinded him.  That bright light is the Gory of God.  It is His brilliance and marvelous power that emanates out of His person.  Everything it touches is either healed or destroyed.

This power is the supernatural power of God.  It is what gives the the ability to overcome the wicked one.  It is what lifts oppression and torment off of you and flings it into the dry places.  This is one of the many benefits that we have received in Christ and are accessible by faith in his name.  Pray for it.  Believe that you receive it and stay in his presence until you are endued with it.  It is the difference maker in your daily routine and interruptions from hell.
