Scripture of the Day – Psalm 19:2
Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good…
It doesn’t take long for us to realize after being born again that we have a real problem on our hands. Our hearts want to please God and they yearn for His presence and His goodness. Our minds on the other hand like things the way they used to be. Our minds are carnal and sold under sin. They are part of our flesh. The scripture says that our natural minds are at enmity with God. It says that our minds are not subject to the law of God neither can be (Romans 8:7). That means that we are in a heap of trouble because we seem to have a split personality or dual natures at work in one body.
If our souls are deprived or starved from God’s Word, our spirits will be held captive. We will never be able to release joy, love, peace, forgiveness, blessing or any other godly attribute. Even though your heart wants something so bad, it will be prohibited from doing it because of the lack of fuel and fresh information from God’s Word. This is why we get so frustrated with our selves. We want to do good. We want to walk in love and please God , don’t we? Paul said, to will is present within me…..We want to do the right thing but we don’t have enough Word in our souls to break the gravity of the natural mind and its limitations. When infused with God’s Word our minds can respond to His will just like our spirits automatically do.
The Word in your souls helps those impossibilities become realities in your experiences. Get busy feasting upon God’s Word again. Like a body deprived of nourishment , it will respond quickly and you’ll be walking on top of the waters again before you know it.
